Seeking, Considering, and Obeying God

Posted by Brad Lewis on

Psalm 119:58-60 says: I have sought your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise. I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to your statutes. I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.

The psalmist sought God’s face, rather than His hand. He was more focused on God’s Presence than he was on God’s provision. How many times do we cry out to God to give us something (hand) instead of seeking Him (face)?

The psalmist looked closely at his own life rather than the lives of others. He was quick to evaluate His own life in light of God’s Word. How many times do we point fingers at others, instead of judging our own actions and attitudes?

The psalmist was quick to obey God. More than the 10 Commandments, God’s Word is full of commands, principles, and exhortations. How many times do we put-off, water-down, or ignore God’s Word?

When we are faithful to God and His Word, our lives become a powerful force in His Kingdom. Our faithfulness to God releases God’s faithfulness to us… Worship Well!
