Christian Emergency Response Team
A group of dedicated volunteers from First Baptist share their love of Christ with their hands and feet! Going to natural disasters or helping with a Worship Conference in Virginia, they are there to help. Both men and women work to help people get back on their feet with a place to live after a disaster. Bennie Jones had the idea to begin this group and sense it has grown in numbers and faith showing that this is what the Lord wants them to do!
Christ Chapel Share & Care Mission Thrift & Consignment Store provides food and clothing to support Catoosa County residents. First Baptist members bring items of food to send to Christ Chapel. Also a yearly donation is given to this mission. Several of our members help with the food distribution and/or rummage through the clothing and furniture contributions that will be put in the Consignment Shop.
The Mission house was dreamed and constructed and furnished at 102 Gilbert Drive in 1995. FBCFO allows missionaries on furlough to use the Mission House at no cost. Many missionaries become family of FBCFO during they stay at the Mission House and are constantly in our prayers.
WMU Women’s Missionary Union
The WMU has a long tradition at FBCFO. The women of WMU help our church with missions education and mobilizing our congregation towards the nations. WMU's education extends to preschoolers, children, youth and adults for the cause of missions. The WMU meets the 1st Tuesday of the month in the Agape Classroom. Preschoolers and children’s missions meet on Wednesday nights. Both organizations have special projects during the year to show love to our community and beyond!
