Worshiping While We Wait

Posted by Jason Thomas on

Is it possible for you to worship while you wait! As we continue to pray for God to provide healing and redemption during this Corona Virus season, let’s be reminded that God’s world-wide redemptive plan is still very much in motion. It is a now happening, but not yet fulfilled reality. “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God” (Romans 8:19-21).
There will come a day when Jesus comes back to claim those (the church) who trust in Him and belong to Him. His return will usher in a series of promised events in which God will eventually bring restoration to all of His creation. But for now, as we wait, even the creation itself is forced to wait. The terrible COVID-19 pandemic that we’re all facing is evidence of this waiting. We continue to pray for God to show Himself strong during the season of this virus, and we can trust that ultimate victory is sure to come from Jesus’ personal promise. “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
So what do we do while we pray and wait for not only the ultimate victory, but also the more immediate victories? What if we had the faith to praise God now even before He answers our prayer? None of us like to wait, but God is calling us to depend on Him and praise Him above all of our temporary circumstances. Trust in God’s faithfulness and claim His promises with great expectation. He is worthy of our worship even while we wait! I continue to pray for you daily. Stay well!        -Jason
