Our Mission

To lead people into a life changing relationship with God through personal faith in Jesus Christ.

Who We Are

At First Baptist Church Fort Oglethorpe, we are ordinary people transformed by an extraordinary Savior. We believe real faith is rooted in God’s Word, centered on Jesus Christ, and lived out daily through obedience and love. We are a multigenerational church family committed to worshiping together, growing together, and serving together for the glory of God.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. We desire to be a church where individuals and families are grounded in biblical truth, strengthened through authentic community, and equipped to live out their faith boldly in everyday life. As God works among us, we seek to impact our city and extend His hope to the nations.

Our Beliefs

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved to write every Word as led by the Holy Spirit. With God as the ultimate source, we believe the Bible is without error.

We believe in one, eternal God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, who was born of a virgin to become flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior to all who will believe in Him.

We believe that all people were created in the image of God to enjoy a relationship with Him, but have become alienated through disobedience and rebellion. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.

We believe that salvation means being restored into an eternal relationship with God through personal faith in Jesus. Salvation begins with God making a person aware of his/her sin and need for Jesus. The blood of Jesus shed on the cross is what makes salvation possible as sufficient payment for sin.

We believe that the church is the people of God who have been filled with the Holy Spirit through personal faith in Jesus and have been called to follow Jesus by living for Him, making a difference in the world, and making other disciples.
